Welcome to Wanda Mikes Early Education Center (EEC). We are a Nature Explorer school located in South Central Los Angeles. At Wanda Mikes EEC, we strive to provide high quality early education experiences to prepare students for success in school and in life. College begins in Preschool and we strive to lead students down a path to become college prepared and career ready. We value and respect the needs, languages, and cultures of all students, families, staff, and the community we serve. Our instructional program includes a setting which develops literacy skills such as oral language, listening, speaking, pre-writing, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, critical thinking and problem solving. Our children become self-directed and self-reliant while participating in a planned indoor/outdoor instructional program. We believe that all students have a right to learn in a developmentally appropriate and challenging educational program where we integrate learning opportunities with high expectations.
